Church History
Mt. Zion Baptist Church was founded in 1972. Our church began in a small church building which was situated on the same location as our current facility, which was built in 2002. As an independent Baptist church, we are non-affiliated with other leading Baptist organizations. We support missions directly, as well as through World Baptist Fellowship and Word of Life. We are actively involved in community outreach as well as our G.R.O.W. outreach programs.
The church continues to be blessed with growth in our thriving ministries. Service opportunities continue to present opportunities for serving the Lord.

Are you looking for a family of faith, to fellowship and share a bond in Christian love? Or perhaps you are seeking to wade into the Word of God, or maybe hoping to find a place to put your hands and feet to work serving the Lord. At Mt. Zion Baptist Church, we study and learn the Bible, God’s holy and unchanging Word, in order to know our Lord Jesus better, to love more like Him, and to serve others in His name and according to His Will.
We also believe that children are the future of our faith, and we seek to nurture their growth in the Word through our many children’s ministries.
Adults have outlets too at Mt. Zion for all ages. We haven’t forgotten the need for adults to have an opportunity to study the Bible and to deepen their relationship with Jesus while finding encouragement in fellowship with one another.

- On Sundays, 15 different Sunday School classes for adults, youth and children, as well as 4 Children's Churches during our morning worship service.
- A music program which offers a growing adult choir as well as graded choirs for children and teens.
- For young families, we provide well staffed nurseries for all services and special programs.
- Our halls come alive on Wednesday nights with children and youth from 3 years of age through high school in our Word of Life Clubs. Over 40 trained and dedicated workers and leaders serve in our WOL ministry.
- For adults, a Wednesday evening prayer service and Bible Study.
- For ladies of all ages, on Thursdays, the Community Bible Study, an in depth, interactive study program; nursery provided.
- For men of all ages, a Tuesday morning breakfast fellowship at local restaurants.
- A “20 Somethings” group for young adults.
- LAFF (Life after Fifty-Five) and J.O.Y. for the young at heart.
- Missions supported locally and abroad, as well as ministry in the community and G.R.O.W outreach program.
